About this tool

Choose Odd pages or Even pages and keep just those pages of a PDF: 1, 3, 5 and so on, or 2, 4, 6 and so on. This is handy for manual two-sided printing and for double-sided scans where fronts and backs alternate. The work is done in your browser and the file is not uploaded.

A line above the button says how many pages will be kept, for example 5 of 10 pages, and the preview shows the first 12 of them with a count of the rest. The kept pages go into a new file in their original order, so text stays selectable and the original is not touched. Switching between odd and even updates the preview straight away.

Frequently asked questions

Why would I extract odd or even pages?

A common reason is manual duplex printing, where you print the odd pages first and then the even ones. Another is separating the fronts from the backs of a double-sided scan.

How do I print double-sided on a single-sided printer?

Print the odd pages, flip the stack and print the even pages. Reversing the even pages first can help, depending on your printer.

Is the PDF uploaded?

No. It is processed in your browser.

Can I get odd and even pages in one run?

No. Run the tool once for the odd pages and once for the even pages on the same file to get two PDFs.

Does the page order change?

No. The kept pages stay in their original order.

Why does the odd file have more pages than the even one?

An odd total gives one extra odd page. For 11 pages the split is 6 odd and 5 even.
