About this task

Sometimes all you have is text: a note, a log, a draft, an email you want to keep. A PDF gives it a fixed layout that prints the same everywhere and that you can attach or merge with other files.

Paste your text or open a .txt or .md file, choose A4 or Letter, a sans-serif, serif or monospace font, the font size and the margins. Long lines are wrapped and the text is split across pages.

Western European text uses the built-in PDF fonts. Greek, Cyrillic and Vietnamese use an embedded Noto Sans. Arabic, Hebrew, Devanagari and Chinese are drawn with your browser's text renderer.

Markdown is not formatted: a .md file is treated as plain text. Text in scripts that need complex shaping is placed as images, so it looks right but cannot be selected or searched.

How to do it

  1. Paste your text, or open a .txt or .md file.
  2. Choose the page size, font, font size and margins.
  3. Press Make PDF.
  4. Download the PDF and check the page breaks.

Text to PDF is free and needs no account. Your file is processed in your browser and never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

Can I open a .txt file instead of pasting?

Yes. Use Open .txt or .md, or drop the file on the text box.

Does it keep my line breaks?

Yes. Each line break in your text starts a new line, and long lines are wrapped to fit the page.

Is my text uploaded?

No. The PDF is built in your browser.
